This painting adds beauty appeal to your home or office visuals, as it features an abstract foliage background of blue hues, creating a captivating wildflower setting for the Pussy Willow branches. The name "Pussy Willow" is given to various smaller species of the willow and sallow genus when their furry catkins are young and fuzzy in early spring. The branches, as depicted here, have a soft, kitten-like texture, reminiscent of the artist's childhood memories of petting fuzzy catkins in her mother's garden as a young girl. Pussy Willows are not only crucial for honeybees but also attract butterflies. Take a closer look to discover one of the artist's whimsical dragonfly or butterfly creations, as this original composition features organic colors with unique copper accents. Designed to draw your gaze towards the light, viewing this artwork may evoke a sense of peace and harmony.
In an ancient Polish tale, a mother cat was lamenting by a riverbank as her kittens were drowning. They had been chasing butterflies when they suddenly tumbled into the water of the river. Willows growing at the edge wished to aid and extended their long, elegant branches into the water for the kittens to grasp. Clinging tightly to the branches, they were safely lifted for rescue to the land. Each springtime as legend goes, willows grow tiny fur-like buds at their tips, as a reminder where the tiny kittens once clung to save their lives."

Oh, this takes me back! There used to be a small stand of pussy willow trees on the edge of my parents' property when I was a kid - it was just fabulous to go and gather a few branches in early spring and present them to my mother, who would put them in a jar. Beautiful painting, Lynn, F
