Experience the artist's unique interpretation of her astrological sign in the zodiac horoscope spectrum for Cancer the crab (June 21 - July 22). This one-of-a-kind design depicts an Atlantic Ghost Crab on the shore of an Atlantic Ocean beach. Witness the originality in her composition as the waves glisten with charm. Observe the artist's expressions of colors in the turbulent water, as one can practically see it moving! With plastic pollution increasingly evident in most of our oceans and beaches, heightened awareness is imperative. While the sea remains a sight to behold, the question arises - is it still a safe haven for us? The endearing expression on the crab's face expresses the symbolism of it all, as it captures hearts. The artist has this one on her own coffee mug and loves it.
Some crabby facts: Ghost crabs have the ability to change colors slowly so they can blend in with their surroundings, creating a ghostly effect. They construct deep burrows close to the intertidal zone on sandy beaches. These burrows typically consist of a long tunnel leading to a chamber at the end, sometimes with an additional entrance tunnel. Ghost crabs are partially land-dwelling creatures that extract oxygen from the air through dampened gills. They need to moisten their gills with seawater at regular intervals, often by drawing water from wet sand or by entering the water and allowing the waves to cover them. Despite this, they can only submerge themselves for a short period because they risk drowning.
