This is NOT meant to be a pretty picture. What happens when a late stage disease makes your life a WRECK? The struggle is REAL ~Nothing messes up a person's life faster than a CANCER diagnosis. Balloons represent the sudden loss of dreams that disintegrate like bubbles bursting into thin air. Ribbons of scattered dreams (all a big mess) just seem to mock you and hit you in the head now. One may suddenly have many people just disappear out of their life. They have already written you off.. shockingly and sadly, you probably won't hear from them again. They must think picking up a phone is contagious, although the cancer cannot be spread to other people in any way. If you make it past treatments that wreak havoc on the immune system, someone may act surprised you are still alive, as you run into them again. Going through dealing with such alterations to one's life is astounding. Emotions are a train wreck; affecting the mind like nothing imaginable.
And to top it off, there's fatigue with a condition called brain fog that only makes the mess worse. And if you survive, anticipate complications. There are ongoing medications and doctor checkups. It's expensive and scary. The pink cancer ribbons shown are for awareness of Breast Cancer. They represent the many RADIATION treatments to kill cancer cells AFTER the surgery lab pathology finding says cancer has spread to the lymph nodes.
Prayers not only help to bring hope, but in the case of this artist, they truly WORK miracles! She also attributes her survival to her dedicated husband and the emotional support she gets from her two Toy Poodles. Please get checkups BEFORE this happens to YOU. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Be supportive ❤ and KIND to those around you going through any type of cancer.
Life is not about fairness, but may this image bring BLESSINGS upon those seeing it. ~ Final thought: Every day that we are alive counts, as it is still part of our journey. Those days include not only need for physical care, but emotional caring companionship. There could be a visit, a phone call, or some flowers.. as you see with empathy how YOU would feel if everyone suddenly abandoned you and left you for dead. Haven't you realized what you do (or not do) will come back to YOUR karma? Even terminally ILL people could continue living for many years. They still need love and kindness!

Lynn, so powerful and heArtfelt!…I understand as I am supporting my husband with his diagnosis and my sister with hers. Sadly, relationships do shift but the ones that remain…are priceless! Beautifully painted and expressed. FAV

A powerful image with an equally powerful message that I can relate to. I am a survivor of cancer in both tonsils, and now I am able to repay my domestic partner for her countless hours of Positivity during those turbulent years. I became her caregiver after the diagnosis of breast cancer, and now she is in the third year of recovery. We are both so grateful to still be here, and try to spread the gospel about how routine checkups lead to early diagnosis and a better chance of survival. Thanks for sharing your experience !
Lynn Raizel Lane replied:
Hi Douglas, I've seen and voted for some of your wonderful artwork; honored to meet you! Your story is touching and amazing! There can be nothing that changes life as dramatically as tragedy survived! I was also in a head-on car collision with a woman on a cell phone whom did NOT SEE me, and I was only wearing a seatbelt. I was on my way to the church with a car full of donations to help raise money, so apparently, the Lord still wants me HERE several times over with things that say I beat all odds. May you be VERY blessed! I'm grateful for EACH and every day I get to wake up!! :) Thank you for commenting on my painting!
